July 1st - Cascadia QuakeUp!
Sheltering Skills after a Disaster

What do you do after the Big One strikes Oregon? You may be without water, electricity or sewage for weeks or months! Bring family and friends to learn and practice skills that will come in handy after a major disaster. Register and join us for this free event on Saturday, July 1st, 2023, from 9 AM - 2 PM at Cedar Hills UCC, 11695 SW Park Way, Portland, OR.
At this event, you'll learn survival skills for a major disaster, and you'll have the opportunity to participate in a viewing and discussion of Oregon Field Guide's "Unprepared." Demos on first aid, emergency cooking, earthquake safety, tenting, and water purification will be provided by BSA Troop 618.
We'll have go bags and under-the-bed kits, information on utility shut-offs, neighborhood ready, door prizes, and more. You can get your questions answered by experienced disaster preparedness experts.
Everyone is welcome, and it's free. Share and invite all your important people. All registered participants will be entered for door prizes. Walk-ins also welcome.

Hold a Neighborhood Ready! Meeting

Picture
Neighborhood readiness is a simple, fun way to get to know our neighbors so that you aren’t alone or isolated in a disaster. With a minimal amount of time and energy,  you and your neighbors can learn a tried-and-true 9-step survival strategy and craft a plan to follow when a catastrophe hits.  If you live in Cedar Hills or Beaverton, Oregon, and you'd like to host a Neighborhood Ready! meeting on your block, you can contact us for help. We can provide facilitators for your meeting, handouts, and booklets. Check out our information sheet for hosts in Cedar Hills. Check out our Neighborhood Ready! page for more detailed information.
